Image Vehicle licence plate guide
Posted by: Kingdom of Candanadium - 05-11-2021, 03:11 PM - Forum: Kingdom of Candanadium | Königreich Kandanadium - No Replies

All road vehicles in Candanadium are registered with the provincial or regional governments in which they are purchased. This registration aids the provinces and autonomous regions in maintaining vehicle safety standards and keeping track of vehicle tax records.

Each vehicle has a unique registration number. The design of licence plates is standardized in each province or territory, but the registration number may be able to be customized at the cost of the owner. Each provincial or regional licence plate features the name of the province or territory (in at least one official language), the registration number, and usually also a motto or slogan from the province.

Military vehicles are issued licence plates by the Ministry of Defence and specify the branch of the armed forces (A/H for the army, N/M for the navy, A/L for the air force, M/M for the marine corps, MP for the military police) the vehicle is a part of and also the province/region/country the vehicle is based in.

Accredited diplomats in New Konigstadt have unique licence plates issued by the Candanadian Capital Region. Diplomats such as consuls-general in other provinces have their status indicated by a sticker on the back of their vehicle.

The CCR licence plate number 0 is reserved for the use of the Chancellor, and numbers 1-50 are assigned to various federal ministers/commissioners. The King does not have a licence plate number on his personal vehicles, and instead, his vehicles feature his royal cypher on a blank licence plate.

CCR licence plates also feature the name "Magnarstaat", often used by CCR residents to refer to the region.

Origins and History of the Mon, a brief history
Posted by: Jazado - 05-10-2021, 09:26 AM - Forum: Heavenly Kingdom of Jazado | Яъзаъдъо Тьиенгуоь - No Replies

The Mon people have been of great importance to Jazadii history, and like all peoples’ they have an origin shrouded in mystery. From our contemporary knowledge, the Mon first appeared in Sinhala at around 600 BCE and according to sources from the time, the historian Yetakiur Mihuri of the 4th century BCE wrote “The Mon arrived in large ships like moving islands, with sails that blotted out the sun. They brought with them tongues of a foreign lands and heathen gods, singing praise to the waves which had so eloquently delivered them to their new homes.” But aside from their arrival, the Mon have had a great impact on Jazadii history and the shaping of the land and the culture. Whether it would be in the form of raiders crossing the Yukaghir straits to raid the Akarean empire, fighting in the various wars or even contribution to contemporary art and music, the impacts of this ethnic and cultural group have been felt throughout the country.
The Etymology of the Mon:
The names of Mon people also greatly help historians when they try to piece together an origin for these people and how they came to be. Mon names start with their birthname, their generation, then title, then house name and lastly their ship-name. So, an example would be Tura, twelfth son, Child of the Sea, of Huron, of the Parting Seas. There are five ship-clans from which the ship-names are derrived, “of the Parting Seas”, “by the Breaking Ice”, “by the Wavering Dark”, “of the Rolling Waves”, and finally “from the Sundering Storm”. Furthermore, an additional ship-clan was created, it is known as “of the lost sons/daughters” and it depends on gender, this ship-clan name was created at around 300 BCE and from that point on the bastard or illegitimate children of the Mon were given that name, this was later applied to the Children of Mon women who married non-mon men. So it would not be uncommon to see someone with “of the lost sons” after their name but this name is normally not hereditary with one exception. Most times, when a “lost son/daughter” gets married to a spouse with a ship-name their children take on the ship-name of the spouse, however, The Company of the Lost Sons which was a mercenary company/military organisation that operated between 1066 and 1723 CE. It was created to give a home and purpose to those cast out of society, soldiers of the company and its other members had their ship-names changed to “of the lost sons/daughters” and their children also took on the ship-name. The Tales of a Thousand Lost Sons is a novel written in 1438 by Kabyar Kungat an extremely notable Mon writer and historian, the novel tells many stories of the Company and is widely used as a source for historians when it comes to studying the lives of these people and is also a classic that is read by most Mon and taught in schools across Jazado.
A Brief Overview:
“A host of lost sons stood before the horizon; their hair cut short left flowing in the wind like the tide that brought them here. Blacker than their eyes which looked like ebon pearls made from fallen pieces of the night sky. These men stood bare chested exhibiting their brown skin, upon which were the markings of heathen gods and divinity, together they stood splendid looking, capturing the awe of a great tapestry.” -Excerpt from The Company of the Lost Sons
Today the Mon look very much like every other ethnicity within Jazado, over time like all the peoples who are home to this land, they have lost most of the “exotic” features they were first associated with upon their arrival. From the very beginning, the Mon were a people associated with the sea, their earliest rituals revolved around the sea and a dive around the Yukaghir straits show the eerie remains of stone men and women at the bottom. The Mon were actually attributed with being the first people to navigate the internal waterways of Jazado, most rivers were first mapped and traversed by the Mon and for their early years in Jazado (the years 600-200 BCE) they were known for the great skills when it came to matters of the waves. For that time period the Mon mainly served as merchants who would travel throughout the land to trade wares or in other occasions, ferry soldiers across the land and fight in many naval battles. From the time between 200 BCE and 300 CE the Mon did not have much of an important role in Jazadii history, however, the formation of the Second Jazado in 147 CE did cement the Mon as a Jazadii people and from that time to after the collapse of the Second Jazado in 611 CE the Mon were an official Jazadii people. It is to be noted that the first Jazado formed at around 1100 BCE and lasted till 500 BCE but during that time the region of Sanhe and the provinces of Gurthanshani and Sinhala were also not part of it, this was due to the terrain of the area, the Shamfad mountains and the Eldergrove stopped any meaningful military advance. Around 760 CE do the Mon regain prominence, this was in the form of raiders who often sailed their ships down Akarean rivers and attacked towns, cities and industrial centres and often returning with many foreign goods. During this time the Mon had unified under one kingdom known as the Siyalu-Mon, but it would also be this kingdom that caused the Akareans to invade mainland Jazado. When the Akareans took the Sinhala peninsula, the Mon then came under the service of the Akareans. They, however, were not directly under the rule of the Akareans but instead a client state to the Akarean throne being able to keep some semblance of autonomy. Upon their subjugation the Mon were quickly incorporated into the Akarean army and even helped plan another push further into Jazado but before the plans could be finalized the Cenaesians invaded, and it led to the events of The Great Akarean Exodus. During the Cenaesian invasion the Mon declared their independence from the Akarean empire and regained their independence and in an unexpected turn the Mon welcomed the displaced Akareans into their lands and reversed the roles they were in just a few years before, now Akareans were subservient to them and integrated into their culture. There were a few battles against the Cenaesians at sea but in the end the Mon were able to hold their side of the straits. Starting around 1100 CE the Mon had also taken on the role as active mercenaries fighting not only naval battles but also land battles, the most famous of which was the Company of the Lost Sons. Many consider the time period from 1421 to 1693 to be the golden age of the Mon peoples, this not only was a period in which the tales and exploits of many of the Mon would be spread throughout the world, but also one of the most tumultuous times of Jazadii history. The Mon like most other ethnic groups become less relevant and instead the newfound ideologies of the 18th and 19th centuries take root and become the main driving forces of Jazadii history.

Legislation The Role of Luxlein in Bollonichian Developement
Posted by: Republic of Bollonich - 04-30-2021, 04:06 PM - Forum: The Republic of Bollonich | বোলনিচ প্রজাতন্ত্র - No Replies

The excerpts below are from the diary of Joaquin Pepito Ibarra, who was a famous Luxerian voyager, serving in the Navy during the rule of José Manuel de Ferreiro’s son, Juanfran Manu Abraham Ferreiro from 1633 to 1665. It was Joaquin who had led the Luxerian voyage to find other lands when they arrived at the Bollonichian mainland. The diary of Joaquin Pepito Ibarra initially belonged to the Luxerian Government, which was sent to the Bollonichian Government, as a sign of goodwill, which is presently under the control of The Department of Preservation of Historical Sites and Artefact also known as PHSA. All excerpts have been translated to Oseanian from Luxerian.

Excerpt 1

Dear Diary,

It was a fine sunny Sunday, I was as usual sleeping soundfully. I was off duty and was enjoying spending some time with my wife and kids who I hadn’t seen for 9 months at a stretch when I was on duty. It was late in the morning around 10 am when my wife started screeching at me, “Are you planning to wake up today or why don’t you not wake up at all??!”. Startled I got up to my feet and went and washed my face. Half asleep I went downstairs and ate my breakfast. I quickly got ready and went to work. After work I came back home at 6 pm, and on reaching home I firstly went through my mail. There were multiple letters, but the one that caught my attention was a letter from the Royal Navy. I wasn’t supposed to return to duty for another month, what could this letter possibly be about? My mind started racing, maybe there was a war brewing but I calmed myself down thinking nothing like that happened for a long time. However in eagerness I opened the letter, finding its contents being.

Quote:Dear General,

I am sorry to be writing to you at a time when you are off duty, however I have been tasked by His Supreme Majesty Juanfran Manu Abraham Ferreiro, to find the most capable sailors in our country for an important task at hand.
As you know, His Majesty’s jurisdiction falls on the Luxerian Islands however His Majesty wishes to expand his jurisdiction over other lands.
The Royal Navy shall launch a fleet of ships to discover and establish control over the discovered lands. For this we shall be needing a skilled, experienced however energetic General, hence you, General Joaquin Pepito Ibarra are to command the fleet of Royal Ships known as the Castillá and serve His Majesty our saviour. You are to report at the Santangel Port on the 16th.

Your Major General,
Gregorio Fausto Cervantes.

I read the letter and was completely dumbfounded, this had taken me by complete surprise. I wasn't willing to leave my family and go on a voyage that I had no idea how long it would take. I  was woken from my deep thought by my son, Basilio. I didn't know what to do, I didn't want to leave my family neither did I see an option to turn it down and such a military accomplishment would be huge for us. I quietly had dinner, and my wife noticed something odd about my behaviour as generally I am quite talkative. After dinner and putting my son to bed, my wife and I spoke regarding what I should do. She completely supported me and encouraged me to go on the journey but I noticed the sadness in her eyes.

Hesitantly I agreed with her, and therefore went and kept my uniform aside for the morning. I couldn't sleep with maybe excitement or dread at this point I can't really make sure. That is why I am writing this in you, maybe this would be the chance I have always longed for, the chance to cement myself in Luxerian History.

Excerpt 2

Dear Diary,

I got up at 6:30 to get ready for a voyage to go on, only to find out that my wife Seleña had woken up earlier, and prepared breakfast for me. I quickly got ready for the day to come, had breakfast and left. I had done this numerous other times and wasn’t really hard. I set out for the military port, an hour away from my house. On reaching the port I was greeted by who appeared to be of a lower rank than me, he introduced himself as Colonel Telesforo Jonatan Quijada. He asked me to go speak to the Major General Gregorio Fausto Cervantes for the briefing on how things were to happen. As I saw, in the room where I was invited there were 10 people including the Colonel I had met earlier and myself. We were told that I was to lead the expedition, and be in charge of the ship Castillá Le Comprandé. The other 9 members of the army were all colonels in charge of the other 9 ships. They were all under my command and we were informed that we were to leave on the voyage today afternoon at 3 pm.
After the end of the briefing, I was highly interested as  the prospect of finding and meeting new people excited me. I went to my ship, spoke to some of my crew, and made friends after all these were the people I would be with for a lot of days. I then went and got comfortable in my cabin before the ship sailed. The moment the ship sailed was a moment of great pride for me, I had been part of the Navy for 7 years but had never experienced such a moment of self satisfaction. As the ship sailed I said goodbye to my hometown and country without any idea of when and if I shall be returning but the upcoming prospects excited me. What followed was a normal day on a ship, after having supper around 6:30 we all slowly retreated to our cabins to call it a night.
I would be sleeping soundly, but the idea of discovering new people and not recording each step of the way would be stupid that is why I am recording all these incidents and keeping them safe in you.

  Into The Mountains
Posted by: Alpenraum - 04-29-2021, 07:52 PM - Forum: Worldbuilding - No Replies

The bitter wind scratched the soldier's face like a feral cat.  His eyes were barely open because of how harsh the wind was.  Many believed that being a member of ECHELON 12, or the Prophets Legion was the hardest job in the Military.  However, that was not the case, or at least not in Alan’s eyes.  Border Patrol was the hardest.  The Alpenraum Border Patrol, or the ABP, was a part of the Eternal Legion tasked with stopping illegal drug flow from Alpenraum, specifically weed.  In recent years, Alpenraum made recreational weed completely legal,  And as such there was easy access.  Seeing the opportunity, Dealers would attempt shipping it to Candanadium and sell it for higher prices.  As such, The Border Patrol and Coast Guard has seen heightened activity.  Alan decided he had enough thinking, and went back into the cabin, where 3 other Border Guards were playing cards.  He noticed they all had a patch with a blue rose vineyard wrapping around a red cross.  They were the search and rescue division of the Border Patrol.  At the end of the day, smuggling drugs is extremely dangerous, especially in these mountains.  It was also common for hikers and hunters to get lost in the mountains, and need rescue.  As if on queue, the phone rang.  One of the SAR troops answered it. After a few minutes of talking back and forth, he hung up the phone.

“We’ve got a report of a missing hiker.  His age is around 30, and is wearing a bright neon coat. He was last seen about 20 miles from us, near the village of Ruddorf. Let’s move.”.  He turned to Alan.

“If you’re not doing anything, you should come with us.  Extra eyes are always better.”.  Alan nodded.  “Let me get my gear on.”

In a matter of 5 minutes, they were in the ABP Veep Bangalore, the ABP’s modified offroading vehicle.  They quickly descended down the mountain, heading on the path towards Ruddorf.  Luckily for them, Ruddorf had a snowmobile station that they could use to help find the missing person.

“What was his name again?” Alan asked.
“His name is Johann Nachtberg.” The Captain answered.

“I know him.” Alan responded.  “Well, not him, but some of his family, My family’s friends with his cousin’s family.  I should call them when I have the chance, they moved to the capital recently with their daughter, Charlotte.”.
They passed a sign saying 5 km to the village.  “Almost there.”  the SAR troop said.

They eventually reached the village, where the wife of Johann was waiting near the snowmobiles.  They quickly got out of the Bangalore, and locked it.

“I’m guessing you’re Brunhild?” the Captain asked.

“Y-yes.”  the woman responded, shaking in the cold with only a pair of shorts and a t shirt on, along with pink fuzzy slippers.

“Alright, please describe the last time you saw him and if you saw which direction he went.”

“We had been arguing about moving to Ankton so I could work a better job and, without any warning, he just goes out the door.”.  She took a breath and continued.

“I thought he’d come back after half an hour or so, but it’s been four hours.  He always liked going into the mountains, but a massive snowstorm is about to hit.”.  Alan looked to the sky, and in the distance saw the clouds rolling in.

“He most likely went northeast, on the Devine Trail, his favorite.  Here’s a picture of him.”.  Brunhild gave them a photo of Johann.  “Please, find him.”

“We’ll try our best, ma’am.”.  The Captain responded.  “Get on the snowmobiles, we’re moving now.”

Soon enough, Alan was riding on the Devine Trail, his snowmobile bouncing and jumping over lumps of snow and ice.  Despite the conditions, the Devine trail was quite beautiful.  The mountains surrounding them were beautiful, despite it being at night.  All the while, he scanned the area and called out for Johann, with no response.  After a few hours, still no luck.  They had üto give up now, as if they stayed, the storm would swallow them along with Johann.

“We’ve got to give up the search now, let’s head to the bar to plan where we search when the storm breaks tomorrow.” the Captain said.  The others agreed, and descended towards the village.

As soon as Alan stepped in the bar, it was like a tsunami of alcohol and cigarette smoke flooded his nostrils.  The sound of jazz music tickled at his ears.  The typical bar at night.  The troops sat down in a booth and pulled out a map of the trails in the area, including the Devine Trail.

“Assuming he’s still alive, we should split off around the trail and search for areas where a person could have taken shelter, for examp-” he was interrupted by an extremely drunk man.  He stumbled in the booth like a dog on three legs.

“Hello, t-troops!”.  His speach was slurred and slow.  He stumbled into a crooked stance.  “V-vielgerühmter Allpenraum!”.  He saluted, and proceeded to fall face first onto the table.

“Wait a minute.”.  Alan said, and took out the photo of Johann.  Alan sighed, and said, “This is Johann.”

The drunk man mumbled, “T-that’s me!”.

“Well, we found our missing person.” the Captain said, trying to hide his laughter.  “Let’s take this guy home.”.

After convincing the drunken Johann that they were not taking him home, but instead taking him to a medal ceremony for him because he was “The savior of Alpenraum.”. They proceeded to  carry him all the way back to a very angry wife.

“You made these young men risk their lives just for you to be at the damn BAR!?”.  The woman yelled.

“W-where’s my savior of Alpenraum medal?” Johann asked.

“It’s right inside buddy.” the Captain said, giving the wife the look that read “I had no other choice.”.  Sighing, she took him inside, and after a few minutes, came back outside.

“Things have been bad here, and i’m trying to get us out of here, but Johann doesn’t want to leave.”.  She paused.  “He loves it alot here, and I know it’s hard for him to leave, but he has to do it for his family.”.

“It’s funny when I heard your name, because I know Claire and her family.”.  Alan said.  “My parents are friends with them.”.

“Oh, my sister in law? What a coincidence.”.  She laughed.  “You all should stay here, Even with your car it could be dangerous driving in this storm.”.

“Are you sure?”. Alan responded.  She nodded, and opened the door for them.  It was a fairly sized house, decorated in a fashion that Alan could only describe as a 1940s style, more commonly known as the pre-war style.  The War of the Bloody Rose shot Alpenraum to industrialize and modernize at an extremely rapid pace.  Before, Alpenraum was a collection of villages and a few cities, with barely any connection besides being in the same nation.  However, during and after the war, Alpenraum built up their cities, roads, and railways to move supplies and troops faster, and as such, modernized Alpenraum.

Alan looked around the house, and eventually noticed a Eternal Legion hat with light blue lines hanging on the coat rack.

“Who’s hat is that?” Alan asked.

“Oh, Johann is a veteran of the Eternal Legion’s Coast Guard Division. He served for four years, and was a Petty Officer First Class.”.

“Interesting.”. Johann responded.  Johann sat on the couch while the others took a smoke break outside.  The storm rolled in soon after, and the others came back inside the house.  After a waiting a while, the storm died down enough to where Alan and the others could leave.

“Thank you for letting us stay.”.  Alan said.

“It’s the least I could have done to thank you all for helping my husband back home.”

Soon after, they were back on the path to the cabin, and as they were, Alan looked out the window.  The grand mountains were extra beautiful after fresh snow had fallen onto them. Despite all the annoyance of sitting in a cabin all day, there were some good moments.  And this was one of them.

  Lakedan Crises
Posted by: Edofasia - 04-24-2021, 03:15 AM - Forum: Conflicts - No Replies

Almost two years after the Annexation
Lakedan Autonomous District, Edofasia

Lakedan had seen a lot over the last few years. A bloody uprising by natives of the region had been crushed when Edofasia had responded to Alaykan calls for aid. When Edofasia arrived they had come expecting a fight. However the rebels seemed to surrender in droves. In fact many in the area threw up the green banner of the Confederacy. Surprised at the mostly warm welcome. The Edofasians stayed but called up the Alaykan goverment to step in. But they never came. Until after almost a year of direct military rule. Edofasia officially announced it was annexing the province. The backlash came fast. The KU deployed troops to the border of the region. The Alaykan goverment panicked. And the border became ever more tense. Away from the border however things had improved vastly for the people. Edofasia did it's best to not only restore damaged infrastructure but to improve upon it. Using mostly local labor to supply jobs and pay to impoverished workers there. These workers were encouraged to form unions and when they did. Edofasia began to organize militas for them. A year after annexation the ENA held an election to form a quasi independent goverment headed by the unions to direct law over the area. With local Edofasians and Alaykans of leftist disposition populating the area. The vote passed in a landslide. Since then the areas livingstandards have improved dramatically. Mines long since closed were reopened and existing warfs  for fishing Northern Cod have been overhauled. The Great Northern Road has been expanded to include high speed rail and things like internet access and universal healthcare have become commonplace. Edofasia has only kept a token peacekeeping force along the border and has left Lakedan to mostly rule itself. However Edofasia has dismissed the ideas of reunification with Greater Alayka unless a 2/3s majority of Lakedan citizens voted for it.

An Inspection into The Great Northern Wars
Posted by: Jazado - 04-09-2021, 03:00 AM - Forum: Heavenly Kingdom of Jazado | Яъзаъдъо Тьиенгуоь - No Replies

An Inspection into The Great Northern Wars
The Great Northern Wars were a period of recent Jazadii history where great advancements in military technology and tactics as well as the intermixing and development of cultures took place rapidly, however to understand the Great Northern Wars, we must first understand the causes to it. Most historians agree that the Sunset Invasion was the catalyst for both the Jazadii exploration of Terra and The Khundian Invasion which itself served as the catalyst for The Great Northern wars, this document is to give the reader a brief summary of the events that transpired in this period of history.
The Sunset Invasion:
The time period of the Sunset Invasion is quite an important time period of Jazadii history, spanning from 1421 to 1483 it was characterized by a massive invasion by the Bila Nuwari (the old way the Jazadii would refer to South Terrans), it led to a great period of destabilization and also the displacement of many peoples, but from this event also came the development of arms and military tactics as well as technology in general. Aside from countless heroes and legends being sprung from the time, it had also led to the Khundian invasion of 1511 and also caused Jazadii men to explore westward in order to search for the homeland of these invaders, it directly contributed to the contacting of Sudardesians and also the creation of new trade relations later on. The sunset invasion can be split into three parts: The Sunset Invasion which is the beginning and first 20 or so years, then The Silver Dawn which takes up around 30 years and then the Return to the Land of the Setting Sun which made up the last 10 years.
The Sunset Invasion was extremely effective due to both the use of new military tactics and animals that weren’t present in Jazado, the most notable would be the use of war elephants, before then elephants were not present in the country and no one had ever heard of such a beast, the animal upon its introduction must have seemed like a monster to those facing off against it.
The Khundian Invasion:
While the Sunset Invasion was taking place the Khundians descended from their ancient mountain homes and invaded the Three Northern Kingdoms and uniting them in what was known as the Red Tide. The Red Tide started at around 1475 and by 1500 the Kingdoms of Dameria, Castanor and Lorrent were under the rule of the Khundians, the High Chief of Khundia then spent the next decade cementing his rule and preparing for an invasion of Jazado. The damage brought on by the Sunset invasion was so great that by the time of the Khundian Invasion (which was 30 years after the sunset invasion) the population of Jazado was only two thirds what it was before the Sunset Invasion. The Khundians would wage a war that would last around 11 years, and with the help of mercenaries and a technological advantage the Jazadii were able to expel the Khundians by 1523. In legend it is said that with the use of ancient magics and spells of the Alswada (that was the old way Jazadii would refer to South Terra), the druids of the Tunbaaght Aarsh created the Eldergleam Forest which would forever stand as a barrier from northerners. The Eldergleam today remains as a holy site for the Pravoslavian religion and is maintained by the Druids of the Woods.
The Great Northern Wars:
In total there were three Northern Wars, the first was Umbar’s Expedition, the second would be the Northern Crusade and the last is The Reclamation of the North. The first was not an actual war waged and fought by Jazadii men but instead done by one Umbar Malik from Meltor, a famous mercenary general who was distinguished in warfare during the Sengoku Jidai in Hykko.
Umbar’s Expedition
Towards the end of the warring states period, Umbar came to Jazado, under the service of the King of Kings he helped fight off the Khundian Invasion, he would then stay for 11 more years helping guard the royal family and putting down insurrections before being granted a large boon of gold and a great arsenal of weaponry that he would use to invade the north in 1534. Establishing his own realm in the lands of Dameria and extending his reach to the southern lands of Castanor, Umbar’s Land was a crucial buffer state that allowed Jazado to regain its bearings after the Khundian and Sunset Invasions. Umbar would later die in an ambush set by Khundian skirmishers at the age of 72. With his death in 1562 the lands that he controlled were split into three realms under his three sons, but these kingdoms would all succumb to infighting and invasion, by the year 1591 his former realm was back in the hands of northern lords.
The Northern Crusade
Arising in 1602 was the Great Divergence, two schools of Pravoslavi though had manifested by this time and they had increasingly become opposed to one another, the Ulema was never as divided before this moment. It is true that around half those who were Pravoslavi ascribed to a Sufi school but the immense power of the Ulema was still something to be trifled with. The Vaishia Lyngat School which originated in Gurthanshani having spread rapidly in the eastern and southern parts of Jazado, and the Karaii School which traditionally had a firm grasp over the Northern lands of Jazado. The Vaishia believed in the Unity of Being and that all nature was sacred and also espoused a doctrine of pacifism, plurality and ascetism whereas the Karaii believed in scriptural literalism and were openly hostile to none believers, during the Sunset Invasion they added the belief that history was a violent struggle between the faithful and the faithless and openly preached for holy war. The Patriarch at the time was a Mu’atazilite who did not want to the church to be divided and so told the Karaii that if their doctrine was true, a holy war in name of the Pravoslavi faith would succeed against all non-believers due to it being God’s will, however if such an invasion was to fail all of them were to give up their beliefs and join other sects of Pravoslavia. The Karaii agreed and spent a decade mustering armies of faithful soldiers, most of which came from the North but stragglers from the south also made their way into the ranks of the crusaders. In 1616 a Great Holy War was declared by the head of the Karaii, after which their armies pushed north. All in the Ulema thought that the Karaii would fail in their endeavour however, after 21 years of fighting they managed to subdue the Three Northern Kingdoms. Upon this victory many of the Vaishia either converted or secluded themselves, the Ulema fell into the hands of the Karaii and the previous Patriarch resigned leading to the head of the Karaii taking over as Patriarch. After the war, the lands of Jazado had basically doubled, with this King of Kings Alashinn II organized the migration of various Jazadii peoples to the north forming the roots of the many Jazadii enclaves in the North we see today. However, the heavy handed nature of the Karaii and their many forced conversion led to a great unrest in the newly acquired lands, there was a mass migration out of the Three Northern Kingdoms but also many revolts and rebellions which would be put down by the Ulema. A major problem had plagued Jazado and it was the fact that the newly acquired lands had a greater population than that of the rest of Jazado, the Kingdom would not be able to continue its decades long occupation if they were going to continually meet such high resistance from the locals, several pleas were made to the Karaii to change their treatment and be more accommodating towards the natives but they simply denied or ignored the requests, this eventually led to Castan’s Revolt in 1659, where Castan the Great of the Three Northern Kingdoms led his people in rebellion against the tyrannical rule of the Karaii, when the Ulema asked Alashinn II for aid he declined and withdrew the Imperial Army stationed in the north to the Kingdom of Dameria leaving the other two Northern Kingdoms to be defended by the Karaii. The Patriarch decided to personally lead his soldiers and was slain by Castan, this led to the expulsion of the Ulema from the Kingdoms of Lorrent and Castanor. After the defeat of the Karaii their sect fell apart and, in their place, the Mua’atazilite and Manik schools would arise.
The Reclamation of the Northern Kingdoms
After the great defeat of the Karaii and their expulsion from the Ulema and the north, the lands of Dameria under a more direct and gentler rule of Alashinn II became increasingly integrated into Jazado, the Daemor (people of Dameria, although they had many subcultures and different ethnic groups) by the death of Alashinn II in 1672 were mostly Pravoslavi, their people could be seen in the bustling streets of the capital, or even in lands as far as Sanhe and the cliffs of Sinhala. There was also a great migration of the Jazadii people’s northwards to the lands of Dameria, this is mainly the reason why those lands today are mostly Pravoslavi and have a significant Jazadii diaspora. The first son of Alashinn was lost to a shipwreck off the coasts of Sud, his second son had left three years prior to see the wonders of the world taking a ship to Akarea and having been rumored to be a guest in the High King of Meltor’s court. The third and last son of Alashinn was young and inexperienced, his eldest brother was a great tactician and administrator, he himself was coddled and lacked even a quarter of the bravery his second brother had. Makim would be the last King of Kings of the third Jazado. Out of all three sons he had the greatest ambitions, though not as skilled in statecraft or war his heart had passion and his will was adamant. He had came to rule a kingdom when all those that surrounded him doubted his skill, where his closest advisors treated him like a child and the highest nobles wouldn’t give him the basic respect they would have given the previous Malik al’Muk. Pride was another trait Makim had in abundance and in his pride and his desperation he thought that the only way for him to gain the respect of the nobles and his people was through great conquest. In the final years of Alashinn’s rule, the population of Jazado had boomed, they made great strides in military advances and Rash’Amal (what Ba Singh Se was named at the time) was in many ways a city to rival all in the world. Makim mustered his forces, he spent five years conscripting soldiers and gathering supplies for his great expedition northwards. In his eyes the only way to legitimize himself was through victory and the restoration of the Infinite Empire (The Second Jazado was the largest Jazado had ever been, having its modern day lands and bordering Alpenraum, this was also the time period when the Jazadii used the title of Emperor instead of King of Kings and many used to refer to it as the Infinite Empire).  The two kingdoms of Castanor and Lorrent whom at this time was under the rule of Castan the Great, was not the limit to his ambition, Makim wanted to push the borders of Jazado to the southern tip of Candanadium and subjugate all that was in between.
In the year 1681 Makim set out on his great northern conquest. Early victories against Esmari (what the people of Lorrent were called) and Arbarani (what the people of Castanor were called) forces spurred on Makim before his advance was finally stopped at the Battler of Seven Rivers, where a joint force of Castan’s army, Khundian tribes and a small Alpenraumisch contingent supplied with Candanadian arms were able to defeat him in battle and route his forces. Makim however, was not oblivious to military strategy, he had launched a two-pronged invasion with the main army led by him to take the lands of Castanor and an army led by Aadir Znayushi who had a great success in capturing the kingdom of Lorrent. The advance was halted in 1683 so that Makim could be reinforced by new soldiers being conscripted in Dameria and Triglav, new arms and munitions were also brought north in order to resume the offensive. But there were still many in the Kingdom who doubted Makim’s ability to win the war, soon many of the realm’s nobles gathered in a plot to murder Makim and call a moot to elect a leader that would be more fit to rule and end what they thought to be, a pointless war. A failed assassination attempt on Makim in 1686 made him aware of the plot and by 1687 the plot was exposed, at this time Makim had pushed Castan and his forces to the northern tip of Castanor but supply issues and a harsh winter was slowing his momentum. At this time, he ordered the arrest of all the nobles that plotted against him and their immediate execution. The arrests however, failed and a civil war soon erupted as various nobles rallied their forces to fight against Makim. Having no choice, the King of Kings marched his army south but left garrisons in various cities and forts to maintain his military presence in the area. The Northern Lords were easily crushed by the battle-hardened soldiers of the Imperial Army, but the eastern and southern provinces had more time to prepare for his return. A significant minority of nobles stayed loyal to Makim and were already fighting the Eastern Lords who rose in defiance of the King of Kings but in the year 1691 the tides of war would change. The people of Dameria revolted due to the long years of fighting and its toll on their people, much of the country was exhausted by war and did not want to continue to fight. Peasants in Triglav, Talath, Serendia rose up in rebellion for lower taxes and an end to war, militias were formed and much of the country was in chaos. At this time many soldiers of the Imperial Army deserted to join their kinsman in a revolt against the King of Kings, but in 1691 the most important event of all happened, the return of Althanni the second son of Alashinn and he came in full support of the nobility who were in revolt.
With the return of Althanni the Imperial army under Aadir Znayushi defected to his cause and supported Althanni’s claim to the throne. The civil war transposed from a revolt against tyranny to one in support of a pretender. As the war waged on the gains made by Makim in the north were slowly being lost to Castan’s forces, long sieges in the north against the unreinforced garrisons left by Makim were easily won and as the loses in the north accumulated it led to the army and the people losing faith in the ability of Makim to rule. The civil war came to an end in 1693 where the King of Kings Makim led his army against his brother Althanni in The Battle of the Silver Steppes where he was killed in a duel but managed to fatally wound his brother in the process. The last two sons of Alashinn had their fates sealed in this battle and following the deaths of the two heirs to the throne, the nobles of the realm formed a regency council while they decided on a new King of Kings. However, three years into the regency the nobles of the realm decided to dissolve the empire officially after failing to find a suitable successor to the throne but in actuality it was probably to give themselves more power and the opportunity to reform Jazado themselves.
