The crushing reality part 2 20 years ago Castle Numenor, Hall of hegemony 9:00 Pm Ten seconds after the attack The pain... Well that doesn't describe it I was hit by only what I can assume is an explosion from the spire behind me or what was anyway all that remains is a hole, I can only imagine my entire back has had its nerves seared so ash. But wait... Where's El? Oh, by God, I have to save her, she will be our future. I know it. Twenty seconds after the attack. "Edelgard, El! Where are you scream for help if you can hear me!" I must save her. She is our lig-. Muffled screaming? Don't worry. I will save you. Even if my body breaks, my spirit refuses to die. One Minute after the attack "Edelgard! Oh, thank Sothis, you live." I breathed a sigh of relief, clearing the last bits of rock over her small body. "F-father, I was so afraid it was so dark. Please don't leave me alone in the dark again." El whispered she was on the brink of crying. "Don't worry, you're safe now, little one we will survive this." I cleared her cheek of all the particles of rock, "I swear it." Meanwhile "Sir, we have bad news. The king is still alive in The Hall of Hegemony." Said a recruit over the radio. "Should we engage?" "Yes, we need to kill him, but be careful he won't fall easily." The commander answered back. "He's just an aging man sir he'll be dead before you know it." Replied the recruit. Five seconds later A hail of bullets showered down from the roof. Piercing stone but missing their target almost entirely in response, the King pulled out a hidden automatic pistol, An Ethiri Nomi one of the greatest feats of engineering in the pitiful gun manufacturing companies still in business. He opened fire upon the unseen assailants, hitting one of the assassins who was roping down, he fell with a sickening crunch he was dead before he even fired a shot. "Come at me wolves of the night! I'll kill you all!" Laughing maniacally He shot a few more bullets upwards, the second attacker but only grazing him. The shock of pain made him accidentally lose grip of the rope. He fell, but through some twisted miracle survived. "Tell me wolf, who sent you? I will make this quick if you tell me." sneered Siegion to the assassin ."Heh, never would I tell a beast like you. I guess the commander was right. You are a demon." Answered the assassin in little more than a whisper. "Then, this will be the final minute of your pitiful little life." Siegion shot the assassin in the stomach. "Goodbye, Mr assassin. I assure you your death will be most painful." Turning around, the king almost utterly transformed from a blood-lusting madman to a loving father. "We must leave El." Ten minutes after the attack We've been running for approximately nine minutes my legs are on fire, it seems that these assassins aren't the cream of the crop like I thought I might be able to get to the Seriu passage from here, just a little farther. I look on my shoulders to see a distant Edelgard. She realized what the real world is. Her eyes were like that of a soldier who just shot their first bullet at live targets. It's a most twisted look, but I can't but feel proud. The darkness will fear you soon enough, sweet daughter. Fifteen minutes after the attack Somethings have been bothering me. The scent of blood permeates the air, somehow we've avoided the corpses, but soon enough, we will likely find her dead brothers and sisters or perhaps not. Whoever these people are they want me, I hope it's just me. Twenty minutes after the attack Edelgard is gone, my arm seems to be gone. But to be honest, the pain has overwhelmed my senses; these bastards finally got me... I was a fool, a bloody beast that fought against the darkness. But it seems the end has come. My fight will be left to Edelgard. Forgive me, sweet sunshine. It seems I've failed you, my sunshine. Looking upwards, I see only a barrel. He who fights must be ready to die.
