* {{para|title_orig}} – if title has been translated, title in original language

* {{para|country}} – home country of author
* {{para|language}} – original language of story
* {{para|series}} – series the story is a part of, if applicable
* {{para|genre}} – genre the story falls into, see below
* {{para|published_in}} – what the story was first released in, (e.g. the name of the anthology, magazine, etc.)
* {{para|publication_type}} – how the story was first released, e.g. anthology, periodical, etc
* {{para|publisher}} – name of publisher responsible for first edition
* {{para|media_type}} – the media the story was first released in, e.g. hardback, paperback, magazine, newspaper, online
* {{para|pub_date}} – date of first release or publication
* {{para|english_pub_date}} – if applicable, date of first publication in English
* {{para|preceded_by}} – if applicable, the name of the work preceding the story in a series
* {{para|followed_by}} – if applicable, the name of the work following the story in a series
* {{para|preceded_by_italics}} – replaces {{para|preceded_by}} if the preceding story requires an italic title (e.g. a novel)
* {{para|followed_by_italics}} – replaces {{para|followed_by}} if the following story requires an italic title (e.g. a novel). if applicable, a link to the text on Wikisource
* {{para|pages}} – how many pages long the work is (prefer 1st edition; specify edition if otherwise)
* {{para|wikisource}} – Title of work's page if hosted at English [[:Wikisource]]. Tracked in [[:Category:Articles that link to Wikisource]]
* {{para|native_wikisource}} – Title of work's page if hosted at a non-English [[:Wikisource]].
* {{para|orig_lang_code}} – Two digit language code to refer non-English wikisource. Drawn from [[List of ISO 639-1 codes|ISO language codes]]. Required to make native_wikisource parameter to work.

For genre, see [[List of literary genres]]. There are older deprecated aliases for parameters pub_date, published_in and english_pub_date called release_date, released_in and english_release_date.
